So Tor.com doesn’t do unsolicited short stories anymore, how do you work your way into their inner circle?
Another enjoyable episode. Thanks.
For a significant number of the pubs mentioned, though, their sites say they’re closed to submissions (Tor.com since January of 2016). An episode on short fiction markets open to new writers might be a good follow-up.
The triumphant trio, Mary, Dan, and Howard, ably assisted by guest host Beth Meacham, sat down with Spencer Ellsworth at LTUE 2017 and talked about short fiction markets! Where do you want to submit your darling little tales, and why? The transcript is pretty shiny, it’s fun, and you can find out when and why you should slap your muse. So read it, then write your 4000 words — and submit!

Great episode as always.
In terms of the request above for a list of markets, although the site looks kind of terrible, one of the best places to go for a list of short SFF markets is ralan.com.

Just got up to present, starting from season 10 a number of weeks ago. This has been an awesome experience. Thank you all for taking the time to help those of us trying to develop writing skills. Now it’s time to jump back to season 1 while I wait for next week’s podcast. You all are the best!
